The Casa Gay building was established in 1929 as a warehouse for renting chairs. After the owner of the business had died, the building wasn’t used for decades – until it was occupied for workshops & artist residencies of all disciplines.
While artistic & landscape activity haven’t ceased in 22 years, the building and its lush garden were included in an urban plan, which foresees the demolition of the entire block and the subsequent disappearance of an emblematic space for the neighborhood and the city of Barcelona.
We are asking for support now from all you people, who are linked professionally & emotionally to the project, whether you are dancing, painting, music making, sewing, thinking, planting, building, sympathizing … Please help giving continuity to this space of creation and coexistence.
